Mrs. Dale writes:
I was just thinking of Christmas plans when Jim was invited to act as Father Christmas at the hospital. He asked me to go with him and I wondered if there would be hurt feelings in the: family. But I find the others are all making their own arrangements too, so we shall have a party on Boxing Day instead. Vicky came over from Paris with bad news about Max, and Grandfather Dale arrived on the same day. He refused to stay with us, and Jim and I were hurt about this but the reason was that he wanted to see Alec, and he felt Alec would not contact him at Virginia Lodge.
