Mrs. Dale writes:
Sue is very upset-apparently George has sold his caravan and is leaving Parkwood Hill. I think she's very fond of him really, even though she has been neglecting him for Bill Harvill lately. Lionel Smithson , the young coloured doctor who has applied for the job as Jim's locum, came to dinner the other night. He's very nice, but very shy. Jim asked Ivor and Joanna to dinner too, but they couldn't come. I have an idea that Ivor thinks it's a mistake to give Dr. Smithson the job.
