An unexpected client from Dublin told Sally that Richard Fulton and Rachel Guest were married. She collapsed at
Virginia Lodge and the Dales made her slay in bed there. Mrs. Dale was out when Dr. Martha Claughton called to see Dr. Dale. He arranged that Dr. Claughton would become his new partner and suggested she might live temporarily in Mrs. Freeman's flat. Meanwhile Mrs. Dale had almost persuaded Mrs. Freeman to return there, and was very annoyed when she discovered Dr. Dale had now made this impossible.
