Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings In the life of her family
Script by Basil Dawson
Dr. Dale was having a very busy time-with irregular meals and little sleep — owing to the large amount of illness in Parkwood Hill. Madame Scott and Mrs. Mountfond abandoned their idea of running Parkwood Lodge jointly; but Maud French had the idea of buying it for the purpose of creating a new ' cultural ' centre in Parkwood Hill. Alec Dale tried to persuade Sally-who was not happy about rhe business ' Sarah ' was doing — to sell the shop and open a hat shop in the West End with financial backing provided by a fr:end of his. Miriam, his wife, advised Sally against this. Sally met Oswald Garnish again, who wa- most anxious to paint her portrait. Bob met Gordon Wallace, an acquaintance working for the firm handling the Parkwood Lodge sale, who was very mysterious and secretive about the future of this property.

4-The Campden Wonder
(Where had the Corpse been?)
Andrew Lang said that ' The ordinary historical mystery is at least so far clear that one or other of two solutions must be right if only we knew which.....' There is reason and human nature at the back of these puzzles But at the back of rhe Gampden mystery there is not a glimmer of reason or of sane human nature.
