A programme for children under five
Nursery rhymes, stories, and music
'Are you ready for the music?' asks the announcer - and it is pleasing and interesting to learn from our correspondence how large is the number of under fives who are indeed ready actively to enjoy the musical excerpts which come at the beginning of their programme, and to discover which seem to emerge as their favourites. Very high on the list, we find, stand the 'Chinese Dance,' the 'Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy' and the 'Dance of the Little Swans,' by Tchaikovsky; the 'Prelude' theme, from the suite called 'The Birds' by Respighi; the Viennese Clock music from 'Hary Janos' by Kodaly, and part of an oboe concerto by Corelli. Greatly loved, too, are the bassoon antics of Senaille's 'Allegro Spiritoso,' the strident sounds of barrel organ tunes and the pretty tinklings of musical boxes while another universal favourite is 'Peter's Tune' from Prokofiev's musical fairy tale, 'Peter and the Wolf.' This is the piece we shall play again this week, to preface the familiar nursery songs and the stories. Today's story is called 'The Robin's Breakfast.' It is by Joan Barter, and will be told by Daphne Oxenford. (Elizabeth A. Taylor)

Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings la the life of her family
Script by Basil Dawson
To be repeated tomorrow at 11.0 a.m. Bob and Jenny had tea with Gwen and David, and Billy stood for the first time.
Bob took David for a ride on his motor bicycle and they both fell off. Later in the week Bob met Linda Grant in the canteen at the airport. Isabel wanted Mrs. Freeman to be wardrobe mistress for the Operatic Society's Ohristmas production, but Mrs. Date thought itt would be too much for her. Mr Fulton made a scene in Mr. Roger's shop; and when Sally took him to rask over it he promised not to interfere again. They decided to send out Christmas cards from the shop. Mrs. Dale and Mrs. Morgan discussed The departure of the Lauries and the arrival of Dr. Gardiner.

A tale of the future
Music composed and conducted, by Van Phillips
Written and produced by Charles Chilton

Jet Morgan and his crew, having landed on the Moon, began their exploration of the lunar surface. But unexplainable things begin to happen; Jet disappeared for more than two hours and Doc saw the image of a dome-like structure appear on the televiewer screen.
The men were not sorry when the time to return to Earth came round but, when they attempted to take off, neither the rocket motor nor anything else in the ship would function.
