David Eccles is the Member of Parliament (Conservative) for the Chippenham Division of Wiltshire. He is one of the Conservative Party's experts on finance and economics, and is Vice-Chairman of their Parliamentary Finance Committee. He is also the representative of the United Kingdom on a special European Committee set up to study the organisation of the production and marketing of food in Europe.
Anthony Crosland is the Member of Parliament (Labour) for South Gloucestershire. He was President of the Oxford Union in 1946 and was a Fellow and Lecturer in Economics at Trinity College, Oxford, from 1947 to 1950. He is on the National Executive of the Fabian Society.
