Drama: Sex and Lies 9.00pm BBC3
Late-night talk shows. Cheap radio. People ring in for jolly banter, or to get something off their chest. Not Kate - played by a chain-smoking Keeley Hawes. She calls up hoping to snare the person she claims raped her. Her target is her workmate Alex, played by Stuart Laing. He maintains what had always been a flirtatious relationship had led to consensual sex. Most of their colleagues side with Alex and think Kate is over-reacting. But who is right about what happened, and is a talk show any place to sort it out? This keeps the facts and the issues tensely balanced until the very end. (Quentin Cooper)
