Alex Biggs, after calling at Mitch's house, telephones and asks Mitch to come and see him. Adams persuades Biggs to go away before seeing the police. Mitch gets a telephone call from Ann asking him to come home as she has found a piece of white telephone cord in the shape of a noose pinned to the front door.
