Introduced by Peter Scott.

Each spring the country people of Schleswig-Holstein welcome back the storks by arranging supports and supplies of twigs on their roofs which the birds can use for nest building.
The film tells the story through a single summer of the storks' first arrival, their choosing of a nest and finding a mate, laying eggs and bringing up the young birds to an age when they, too, are ready to set off for their winter homes.
