A dramatic incident by Stefan Zweig.
Adapted by Jon Manchip White.

Herr Mossbach has been a collector of prints all his life. "For fifty years or more", he says, "I went without beer, wine, tobacco, little outings, visits to the theatre, books. I've skimped and saved. All for the collection". It is to see it, perhaps even to buy from it, that Herr Reinhardt, the Berlin dealer, has come to Mossbach's home. It is years since Mossbach has added to his collection, but though he is old now, and blind, it is a source of unending pleasure to him. The dealer looks forward to seeing it too. Why, he wonders, is the dignified Frau Mossbach so hesitant in arranging for him to do so?
