One of the most interesting and universally valuable products of nature is the gas known as carbon dioxide. Tonight, during a visit to a factory specialising in the harnessing of this gas to the service of man, Richard Dimbleby introduces to you some of its most important uses, ranging from the provision of essential food for plant life, to supply of power for innumerable devices, the generation of intense cold and one of the most efficient methods of fire fighting yet discovered.
