As summer approaches the travelling circus prepares for the road. At Winkfield, near Ascot, where Billy Smart's circus has its training quarters, preparations for the summer tour are nearly completed.
Tonight Wynford Vaughan Thomas takes viewers behind the scenes to watch the activity as clowns are fitted with fresh costumes, horses are groomed, the lions put through their paces, and new acts polished up and trained in the practice ring for the great opening performance.

Roof Bosses
C. J. P. Cave describes a beautiful series of carved roof bosses which have been recorded by a new tele-photographic method. The bosses depict scenes from the Life of Christ.

Altar Piece
In Schleswig Cathedral the Great Altar, the work of Hans Brueggemann in the sixteenth century, tells the story of the Passion and Crucifixion in carved oak figures. This new film from Germany is sponsored by the Information Services Division of the Control Commission.
