An exploration of the impact of artist, icon and visionary Andy Warhol on the evolution of popular music.
Raised in Pittsburgh by eastern
European parents, Warhol was a master of pop art and gorged himself with (and subverted) celebrity and glamour. Among his many other feats he produced the immeasurably influential 1967 LP The Velvet Underground and Nico. His famed Factory drew such luminaries as Mick Jagger , John Lennon , Brian Jones and Bob Dylan. Warhol died in 1987, aged 58. Contributors include Velvet
Underground founders Lou Reed and John Cale , David Bowie , actors Dennis Hopper and Joe Dallesandro , director Paul Morrissey , society columnist and designer
Nicky Hasiam , and author Tom Wolfe.
