Lionel Bart , who died in 1999, aged 68, following huge successes and a long period of drug and alcohol addiction. Bart provided
Cliff Richard with his first number one - Living Doll (1959) - and wrote the 1960 big hit musical Oliver!, whose 1968 filmed version won six Oscars. He also penned tunes for Tommy Steele , Anthony Newley and Matt Monro.
