Programme, visiting South Yorkshire for the premiere of the Dearne Valley
Community Opera staged at the derelict Hickleton
Main Colliery. It brings together a cast of 200 local school children, five choirs and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Guests include Brian Blessed , patron of Dearne Valley Opera, talking about his childhood in the area, and Barry Hines , whose latest novel looks back to the miners' strike of 1983/4.
