The Woody Herman Story. A band leader for over 50 years, Woody Herman was one of the most loved and most respected figures in the jazz fraternity. In this programme Woody speaks about his early life in vaudeville, his first great hit, At the Woodchoppers' Ball and about his determination to become one of the great American band leaders. There's also a chance to hear some of his most popular as well as his rarer music.
