BBC Concert Orchestra 40th Anniversary Tour
Live from the Grand Theatre, Swansea, the BBC Concert Orchestra led by Martin Loveday.
Sir Charles Mackerras conducts a concert of European and British lollipops. Also featured are two of Sir Charles's much-praised ballet scores: Part 1 ends with the suite from The Lady and The Fool, based on Verdi, while the concert finishes with an extended selection from Pineapple Poll, constructed out of themes and ideas taken from Gilbert and Sullivan operas. Introduced by Chris Stuart.
