Kalgoorlie, 360 miles east of Perth. In 1893 Paddy Hannan found gold nuggets lying on the ground. People and. eventually, machines moved in to exploit the seams on the 'golden mile' and today it's the gold capital of Australia. Join John as he fossicks a little, recalls the early boom days with old-timers, talks to present-day gold fingers, and discovers 'Kal', where all that glitters probably is gold.
