International Rally Special
Two hundred and fifty cars set out from York today on the Lombard RAC Rally; 1,800 miles of gruelling motoring, divided Into three sections . Section one will be covered today, section two on Sunday and Monday, and section three on Tuesday and Wednesday. Within the three sections there will be over 50 special stages.
The BBC Radio Sports Unit will have their own car in the Rally, driven by Phil Cooper and Andrew Marriott , who will be providing on-the-spot information. Also, BARRIE GILL reports from our special studio in the rally headquarters at York, and PETER JONES takes a ride with Britain's Roger Clarke.
