England v Portugal
Commentary by MAURICE EDELSTON and BRYON BUTLER during the second half of tonight's match from the Empire Stadium, Wembley
These two countries last met in the semi-final of the 1966 World Cup competition at Wembiey, when England won by 2 goals to 1.
Portugal went on to take third place in that series, beating Russia in the 3rd/4th place Final, again by 2 goals to 1. A number of great players who were seen in England in 1966 are still representing Portugal, including Eusebio, Torres the big centre-forward, Simoes, and Coluna.
