Larry Jackson , Neville's brother, has started work at Hill and Dale and appears happy to stay in Exton indefinitely. Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Dale have collected Lois' baby from hospital. Lois, still in hospital, has shown signs of improvement. Mrs. Dale and Sally Jiave had a disagreement over Sally's male friends, but relations between Mrs. Dale and Jenny have improved. Barry, one of Gwen's student lodgers, has passed his exams; Mark, the other, has shown signs of developing a crush on Gwen.
