(A Political Satire) by Slawomir Mrozek, translated by Slawomir Mrozek and Ralph Manheim

The day starts badly for the Ambassador when he mislays an important item of clothing before an official engagement; the situation is exacerbated leave him; becomes upsetting when he loses contact with Washington; worrying when he is presented with a globe of the world which has half the continents missing; and positively alarming when an unknown, un-named man breaks in seeking political asylum.
