Peter Clayton with news from the world of jazz with The Geoff Castle Band and Hefty Jazz
' Ask me why I like jazz.' says Peter Clayton , ' and I'll tell you why I like toast and marmalade. Music is very much a taste on the tongue and the palate and jazz is my favourite flavour! I'm lucky to have the opportunity of hearing and presenting so many jazz bands, and when I do express an opinion, it's simply my reaction to the things I hear as " the privileged listener ".' Peter is determined not to let the programme become too specialised: ' After all '. he says, ' jazz is music made by ordinary people, just like any other kind. This week's sets are enormously agreeable. and I think they'll be enjoyed by people who might not normally listen to the programme.'
