Tourism is becoming an increasingly important part of British life. It earned Britain £2,765 million last year. Most of us know what it's like to be a tourist, fewer people understand what tourism means to those who make a living from it. But Shanklin Youth Club from the Isle of Wight know all too well - for the islanders have more than enough work in the summer, and a ghost town in winter.

Tonight, with chairman Adrian Love and Stephen Ross, MP for the Isle of Wight, the youth club members look at the tourist industry. They claim that the Isle of Wight has become a float-ins hotel and think that Britain is in danger of following.
