with Andy Peebles
Having just returned from Hong Kong and China, Alison Rice this week talks about the Chinese way of life, while Dr Alan Maryon-Davis compares Chinese medicine with that of the Western world. Alison says: ' Try to imagine a city that hasn t seen a Westerner for years and is very unsophisticated -and that's Peking. All the people ride around on bikes and they eat fresh, hardly-cooked food, which is delicious - not a bit like your local take-away! Typical Chinese stores are large buildings with no frills, and the choice of goods is very limited. The Great Wall of China is breathtaking - a long white line set in green hills. It's so huge that you can actually climb up it and stand on the top. If you've seen that. then you've seen everything.' Producer MALCOLM BROWN.
