"We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds." Thus begins the Nicene Creed, a statement of essential faith spoken for over 1600 years in Christian Churches - Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant. But what has become a universal statement was written for a very particular purpose - to defeat a 4th century theological heresy called Arianism and to establish that Jesus Christ was, indeed, God. The story of the Creed is in many ways the story of early Christianity – of delicate theology and robust politics. It changed the Church and it changed the Roman Empire, but that it has lasted for nearly 2000 years would seem extraordinary to those who created it. With Martin Palmer, Director of the International Consultancy on Religion, Education and Culture; Caroline Humfress, Reader in History at Birkbeck College, University of London; Andrew Louth, Professor of Patristic and Byzantine Studies at the University of Durham.

The first lambs have been born and Debbie's happy to help out. Adam tells her that Jennifer would like her to stay longer but he understands that three days was the most she could take. Adam and Debbie are getting along really well and Adam comments on Debbie's calmness. She explains that she was determined not to spoil things for Jennifer but it doesn't change the way she feels about Brian. Nevertheless she's really excited about the future, and is pleased to be working with Adam on the new venture.

Up early for the shoot, Will tells a barely awake Nic what a fantastic Christmas he's had. The shoot starts off well and Brian is pleased. Will's anxious for Eddie to get Nic to her mother's but wants him back sharpish. With Neil not well they're already one down. But Eddie's gone longer than planned and Brian notices his absence. Assuming Eddie overdid things yesterday, Brian points out the problems of working with family. 

When Eddie returns, Will tries to cover for his absence. But Eddie's explanation doesn't match Will's, and Brian's not convinced and leaves them with a warning. Eddie casually changes the subject but frustrated Will tells him to shut up.

In a special edition of Check Up, Barbara Myers visits the Fulham branch of MEND, a national family-based programme designed to combat childhood obesity.

If you're one of the many who has tried to lose weight, you’ll know how hard it can be. 

For children it can be particularly tough. Often excluded from games and teased in the playground, finding the confidence and motivation to tackle the problem can be a challenge in itself.

In this special edition of Check Up, Barbara Myers visits the Fulham branch of MEND, a national family-based programme designed to combat childhood obesity. 

It combines ‘Mind’, ‘Exercise’ and ‘Nutrition’, to help overweight and obese children to lose weight.

Her guest is Paul Sacher, Paediatric Dietician at Great Ormond Street, and a pioneer of the MEND programme. He’ll be taking questions from both children and their parents, and offering advice to help the children manage their weight.

Obesity is now one of the world’s largest health and social problems. If current trends continue unabated, at least a third of adults, a fifth of boys and a third of girls will be obese by 2020. It’s predicted that many of these children will go on to become obese adults.

That’s why it’s crucial to target children as a separate group.

At Shula's drinks party, David and Ruth explain that Heather's coming back to help while Ruth's in hospital. Shula and Alistair lament the thought that Jim will probably still be with them. It seems the only ones not at the drinks party are Kathy and Kenton. When Elizabeth learns that they're out at the panto tonight instead, she knows they're avoiding her. It's all too much and before she knows it, she finds herself spilling everything out to Shula. 

Shula's shocked to hear about the rape but when Elizabeth explains how she's been called by Owen's defence Shula can understand how difficult it must be for Kathy. Elizabeth tries to justify her actions and points out how Kenton's making things worse. It explains a lot to Shula but Elizabeth breaks down and tells her she just can't bear it.
