An East-meets-West tale of love and hope, by Jacob Rajan and Justin Lewis, set in the faded glory of the New Zealand Empire Hotel. Ammachy runs the hotel with an iron fist but has one big problem - her niece Sasha will not be married. Sasha knows she must not marry because she is cursed - everything she loves dies. During the Second World War, a Fleet Air Arm Observer Training School was established in Trinidad where hundreds of young men undertook their training. At the end of the war, many of their planes were dumped into the ocean.
