Caricaturist, broadcaster, raconteur and tuba player, Hoffnung came to London in 1939 as a schoolboy refugee.
Although he died at the age of 34, he established a tradition of classical music comedy that persists around the world today. His widow, Annetta Hoffnung, talks about his life and plays some of her collection of recordings, which have not been broadcast in over 40 years.
