Tomorrow in Parliament
Although women won the right to become Members of Parliament over half a century ago, today there are still only 28 compared with 622 men. But the political parties have now realised that the public expects to see a more equal representation at Westminster and the next General Election should see a record number of women MPs.
Who are the new women coming on to the political scene in 1987? How different are they from the generation that produced Margaret Thatcher and Shirley Williams ?
