In 1948 composer/pianist Donald Swann and broadcaster Michael Flanders teamed up to start an entirely new career for themselves - that of writing comedy songs for revue.
This proved so fruitful that after nine years they made the all-important decision of performing their songs on stage themselves. Their two-man show At The Drop of a Hat, although scheduled to run only a limited three-week season, proved so successful that it was followed by At The Drop of Another Hat, setting Flanders and Swann on a trail of triumph that led from London to Broadway and on around the world, and occupied their lives for the next 14 years.
Tonight Flanders and Swann reminisce with the help of recordings from their shows.
