Overnight, Britain's 14-year-old diving sensation Tom Daley and Athens silver medallist Pete Waterfield were hoping to reach the men's 10m platform final. The Bird's Nest stadium has played host to the men's football final, the finals line-up has been decided in the men's table-tennis and the volleyball's women's bronze encounter has been settled.

It is also the canoeing men's and women's C1 and K1 500 finals, with Britain's Tim Brabants and Lucy Wainwright hoping to have qualified.

More action from the final day of competition of taekwondo at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium. British attention is focused on Sarah Stevenson competing in her third Olympics and hoping for a better result than her fourth place in Sydney.

And in synchronised swimming it is the team free final. Russia has won gold at the last two Olympics with Japan in the silver medal position on both occasions, and the positions were the same at last year's world championships in Melbourne.

In the men's mountain bike, Britain's Lewis Killeen and Oliver Beckingsale will be amongst a tough field striving for Olympic glory. Killeen finished fifth in Athens, but defended his Commonwealth Games title in Melbourne two years ago and should figure in the hunt for medals. Beckingsale claimed Commonwealth silver behind Killeen and will be hoping to improve on his 17th place finish at the last Olympics.

With coverage of canoeing finals, including the men's and women's K1 500 and K2 500 and men's C1 and C2. Britain's Lucy Wainwright will have hoped to have qualified for the K1 500 final.

Reigning Olympics champions Australia are number two, with Athens runners up Netherlands at number three.

In table-tennis it is the men's singles finals, and the favourite is China's Wang Liqin, world champion and bronze medallist four years ago.

Also including the women's vollyball final. Four years ago, China ended a run of Cuban domination and beat Russia in five sets.

The four remaining choirs perform live in the studio tonight, all desperate to secure a place in next week's grand finale and, ultimately, to be declared the Last Choir Standing. From the 60 choirs that auditioned at Cadogan Hall, only the best now remain and they have to impress both the judges and the viewers at home if they are to progress further. One choir will be waving goodbye to the competition tonight, while the remaining three will battle it out again in next week's final show.

Myleene Klass and Nick Knowles host, with judges Russell Watson, Sharon D Clarke and Suzi Digby.

Viewers can vote for their favourite choir after the main show. In the results show later on, the two choirs with the most votes will automatically progress to the live final. The two remaining choirs will perform again. The judges will then decide which choir deserves to reach the final, and which choir will be going home.
