Robert Hudson is one of radio's most distinguished commentators. He began broadcasting for the BBC in 1947. His commentaries include the State funeral of Sir Winston Churchill. the opening of Parliament, the weddings of Princess Alexandra and Princess Anne, Trooping the Colour and the Festival of Remembrance. He is also a regular sports commentator covering 60 International rugby matches and ball-by-ball commentaries of test matches. In the first of three programmes Roger Clark talks to Robert Hudson about his early life, how he entered radio and how he learnt the art of commentary.
