Bantamweight and flyweight boxing preliminaries will be taking place, in which Britons Joe Murray and Khalid Yafai start their campaigns, and Sydney Gold medallist Richard Faulds competes in his fourth Games.

Also, medals are decided in the women's 10m Synchro with Britian represented by Stacie Powell and Tonia Couch, and the final of the men's double trap shooting.

In the Canoe Slalom, the first two medals are decided in the finals of the men's K1 and men's C1 competitions. Britain's Campbell Walsh won K1 silver in Athens and last year won bronze medals at both the World and European championships. David Florence represents Britain in the men's C1.

John Inverdale and Sir Steve Redgrave will be watching the fourth day of the rowing regatta and there will be a second chance for crews to quaify for semi-finals and finals. Expect to see the British women's and men's eights as attempts to qualify as many boats as possible continue.

In sailing, the men's and women's lasers start their competitions today, and Britain is represented by Paul Goodison and Penny Clark.

Also, in the judo finals of the men's -81kg and the women's -63kg classes, world championship bronze medallist Euan Barton and Sarah Clark are representing Britain.

It is the climax of the equestrian team and individual competitions in the three day event, and following two days of dressage and another gruelling day of cross-country, the spotlight falls on the crucial show jumping section, when knocking a single fence down can mean the difference between going home with or without a medal. British medal chances include Mary King and William Fox-Pittday.

Britain have won the silver medal in the tean event at the last two Olympics but have not won team gold since their sucessive Golds in Mexico 1968 and Munich 1972.

In swimming, it is the men's 200 breaststroke heats and the men's 4x200 free heats and the relay will see another renewal of the American v Australian rivalry. Kris Gilchrist and James Kirton carry British hopes in the breaststrokes.

Britain's Khalid Yafai begins his flyweight campaign in boxing. In the Bantamweight division the focus is on Joe Murray and Ireland's John Joe Nevin.

Plus news of two more medals in weightlifting and fencing, and the badminton, beach volleyball and tennis competitions continue.

Anjum Anand visits Cornwall and shows chefs Nirmal and Louis how to make coconut fish curry with yellow lemon rice and crab cakes with tamarind mayonnaise for a pub's curry night.

Anjum Anand heads off to Cornwall to meet self-taught chefs Nirmal and Louis who run the The Little Cornish Curry Company. Originally from Birmingham, for the last few years they have been serving up curry at the farmers markets near where they live as well as catering for the odd event.

But now they are about to face a new test. Local pub The Galleon Inn is launching a curry night with Louis and Nirmal doing the food. They have decided that the best way to convert the customers to Indian food is to start with a regional favourite - fish. However Louis and Nirmal haven't used fish in Indian food much, so first up Anjum takes them to famous Looe fish market where the fish is officially the freshest in Britain.

Having chosen some fantastic Pollock, Anjum shows them how to make a rich, flavoursome South Indian coconut fish curry with a side order of yellow lemon rice and crab cakes garnished with tangy tamarind mayonnaise.

Great Britain's hopes rest with Scotland's Caitlin McClatchey in the 200m freestyle, while American Michael Phelps is the one to beat in the 200m butterfly.

And in gymnastics, the first women's medals of the games are decided. Britain missed out on the final, as China dominated qualification by winning five of the six events. USA and Russia are expected to provide the Chinese team with the strongest challenge for the gold medal.
