Three chefs from the North West of England compete over mains and desserts.

The remaining chefs compete with dishes inspired by British invention and innovation, but which two chefs will go through to the judges’ chamber and who must go home?

The three remaining chefs are halfway through their heat, and the pressure is mounting. Each one wants to represent the North West of England at a banquet celebrating British invention and innovation. One chef pins their hopes on a dish celebrating a church minister who was a pioneer of vegetarianism, while another chef is inspired by a Victorian female adventurer, and our third chef presents a dish with a nod to the first public wash house. But whose mouthwatering plate will please tough veteran judge Tom Aikens the most?
