Gentleman sleuth Nick Charles decides to take a holiday away from solving crimes back in his old home town of Sycamore Springs - accompanied, of course, by Nora and Asta. But almost as soon as they arrive, a young man is shot on his parents' doorstep, and Nick finds himself back on the job.
