With 80 confirmed victories, Germany's Baron Manfred von Richthofen was the most highly skilled and successful fighter pilot of the First World War. But he was increasingly disillusioned by the accompanyingcarnageand tormented by the death of his comrades. Drawing on the Richthofen family papers, and featuring interviews with relatives of Richthofen and the descendents of some of his victims, new light is shed on the man known as "the Red Baron".
