I'm Just a Simple Man
As part of the celebrations marking the birth of the painter L. S. Lowry , BBC2 is showing again this film about the Lancashire artist. First seen the year after
Lowry's death in 1976, the film was made by the distinguished documentary director John Read and it contains what is now rare archive of Lowry at work.

Gallery to reassess the work of a man whom he regards as one of the greatest British painters of this century.
Read comments, "I'm just a simple man", he said.
