Last December, the Prince of Wales made his most furious attack yet on modern British architecture. Central to this theme was a 60s office block next to St Paul 's Cathedral, Paternoster Square. Now it is due for redevelopment. The Prince wants to see it rebuilt in a more traditional style appropriate for such a site. But an architectural competition has been held 'in camera'. As a result, arch-modernist Richard Rogers will be working with 'Masterplanners' Ove Arup. Until now, the Arup concept for Paternoster Square has been kept secret, but what they finally come up with will change not only London, but will influence the look of all Britain's cities.
