Tonight from BBC North East: The Shooting of Percy Toplis
In September of 1917, British and Allied troops mutinied at the base camp of Etaples in Northern France. There is no official account of this in the history books: what is known is that one of the mutineers was shot by police on a lonely stretch of road in Cumbria two years after the war ended.
