'In a huge, derelict ice-storage warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent, 12 people -who were on the dole six weeks ago - were employed to start work on our dream. We want to create an art centre which will bring work, art, hopes and harmony to our local multi-racial community. There is space for drama, dance, music, painting, pottery ... we're still up to our eyeballs in dust and demolition - but we can show you the talent and potential on our doorstep.'
