The King's Singers Madrigal History Tour

on BBC Two England

The King's Singers tour this week goes to Regensburg in Bavaria, a beautifully preserved medieval town, and the surrounding Danube countryside. The Reichssaal, the home of Germany's first parliament, the 12th-century Wiirstkuche, one of Europe's oldest pubs, and Castle Prunn, a typical Bavarian hilltop castle, are among the settings for music by Hassler, Senfl, Forster and the ubiquitous Lassus.
The programme is introduced by Bill Ives , the group's tenor. with The Consort of Musicke directed by Anthony Rooley
