Marcel Ophuls ' film is a personal statement about human conduct in war and peace.
Interweaving archive and newsreel footage with contemporary interview and making his own points with camera and editing, OPHULS attempts to relate the War Crimes Trials at Nuremberg to Hiroshima, Algiers and Vietnam. General Telford Taylor, Grand Admiral Doenitz, Yehudi Menuhin , Lord Shawcross, Daniel Ellsberg and Albert Speer are among the well-known people taking part.
