Judge thy Neighbour
TV cameras are not allowed in British courts. But in this Brass Tacks, three cases have been re-created by those involved. Solicitors, court staff, magistrates, even the defendants themselves, went from the courtroom in Stockport to the studio to relive the proceedings exactly as they had happened.
Their cases raise serious questions about the justice of our criminal courts. Representatives of the legal establishment are called to the court-house to answer Geoffrey Robert son's question: do magistrates courts dispense what Magna Charta called 'judgment by our peers'?
