Over 30 years ago, German wildlife film-maker Eugen Schuhmacher set off around the world to film for posterity creatures that he believed were on the verge of extinction. This two-part documentary shows his footage - entitled The Rare Ones - and returns to the original locations to discover how the species have fared in the meantime. Tonight's programme concentrates on the winners in nature's lottery of survival. Narrated by David Attenborough. Part two is tomorrow at 5.35pm. See today's choices.
