Fifth in an eight-part series in which journalist Simon Dring retraces his 1962 overland journey to India.
Tonight he is in Pakistan, hot-footing it across the desert sands of Baluchistan, heading north towards the border with Afghanistan. From there he travels up the Khunjerab Pass, 4,934 metres (over 16,000 feet) above sea level, to the border with China.
Along the way he sees two British women breaking a few taboos under their truck and meets a six-year-old girl travelling with her parents on a motorbike and sidecar.
