Hollywood in the Sixties: Mr Hobbs Takes a Vacation

on BBC Two England

Tonight's film in this new season of outstanding films of the past 10 years stars James Stewart, Maureen O'Hara
with Fabian, John Saxon

Two generations of stars are featured in this 1962 production from 20th Century-Fox. James Stewart plays the hapless Mr Hobbs in fine laconic style - a banker who discovers the perils of a family vacation by the seaside in a broken-down villa with a large and fractious family. It turns out to be a holiday that no one will ever forget!
