Fear of the Wild
Snakes are worshipped as gods. Killer whales perform tricks. Bulls are taunted.
Great white sharks are killed. We have devised many ways of coping with our fear of dangerous animals, but why, at a time when many of us rarely encounter them in the wild, should we be afraid?
Might the way we treat wild animals be a throwback to a time when they were a real threat? And might our fears lead to their extinction?
