British industrialists are wringing their hands about European predators and demanding more protection against foreign takeovers. They say UK companies present easy takeover targets but it is much harder for UK companies to make acquisitions in Europe. Are they right? Henry Harington reports from Brussels, Paris, Munich and Rome on a rash of company takeovers within the EEC as Europe prepares for the single market in 1992.
