A Pagan Place
Edna O'Brien's new novel is published next week. In her first novel The Country Girls she described the experience of an imaginative girl growing up in the west of Ireland.
In the latest one she returns to these themes - the fears and guilt associated with the Roman Catholic Church, the frustration felt by the inhabitants of a small, isolated community, and the continually changing landscape.
In tonight's film Edna O'Brien reflects on these childhood experiences.
