In this award-winning film, getting its British television premiere tonight, watch one of the greatest painters of the 20th century at work.
Pablo Picasso was persuaded by Henri-Georges Clouzot to come into a film studio and paint. As with the recent series Painting with Light, the images grow and change before the camera.
The film was made in 1956, before the age of the computer, colour television and the Quantel Paintbox.
Henri-Georges Clouzot could only set up his camera in front of a screen on which Picasso worked. But the end results shimmer and glow with colour as this great and inventive master entertains the viewer. Music by GEORGES AURIC Directed by HENRI-GEORGES CLOUZOT
